Hallsville Police Chief Tony Fields was recognized last night (7-12-12) by the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (LETSAC) as its small Department 2012 Officer of the Year at the agency’s annual conference in Lake Ozark, Missouri.

Chief Tony Fields, 46, has been with the department since 1997.  The “Small Department” category is considered a law enforcement agency in the state of Missouri that has 1-15 sworn officers.  Chief Fields was nominated for this award by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

About 200 law enforcement officers from Missouri attended the LETSAC Conference, which was held from July 9th – July 13th .

The year’s conference was sponsored by the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Missouri Safety Center.
